Cardiac Rehabilitation

What is Cardiac Rehab?

Cardiac Rehabilitation (often referred to as cardiac rehab) is a medically supervised program that helps patients recover quickly and provides knowledge to prevent future heart issues.

Medicare and most insurance companies will cover cardiac rehab for a patient if they have had:

  • Angioplasty
  • Coronary artery bypass graft
  • Heart attacks within the last year
  • Heart/Lung transplant
  • Heart Valve Repair or Replacement
  • Stable Angina
  • Heart Failure

Our Program

Typically will last 6-12 weeks; (18-36 sessions; 2-3 times a week)

All patients in the program will be placed on a heart monitor during all exercises. Sessions will last approximately one hour.

Each session will consist of:

  • Aerobic training-treadmill and stationary bike
  • Resistance training-machines with added weight(pulleys)
  • Both of these training forms have been proven to improve one’s overall health
  • Educational programs are offered, given by guest speakers and program staff members
  • All sessions are supervised by ACLS certified team, medical director, registered nurses and an exercise physiologist
  • A doctor is always on staff during every session
