Prevention

Heart disease is the leading cause of death for men and women in Louisiana. And it’s one of the most preventable. Knowing your risk factors—and taking steps to control them—can greatly reduce your chances of developing the disease. Schedule a regular heart health checkup with your primary care provider. You may also consider having a heart health screening available through our mobile health unit. Find out more here.

Diagnosis

To help your physician with diagnosis of possible heart disease, St. Francis Medical Center offers many options including EKG, stress testing, echocardiogram, holter monitoring, cardiac function testing, cardiac catheterization, coronary CT angiography (CTA), coronary calcium scan, and CT cardiac imaging. St. Francis offers the latest technology available in Northeast Louisiana for CT cardiac imaging using a 160-slice CT scanner and SURECardio technology which automatically adjusts for those with irregular heartbeats. This 160-slice CT imaging technology is located at St. Francis Community Health Center on Tower Drive.
